My name is Carmen.

In the process of my divorce and the discovery of a brain tumor, I was approached by a couple from the Ede church. Our sons were on the same soccer team and they saw that I was very depressed. I did believe in God and I had a religious background, but I didn't do much with it.

Before going to church, I had surgery for my brain tumor. I had to stay awake during the surgery. The moment I went to the operating room, I felt God's protection like a warm blanket around me. After a successful operation, I went to church with the couple and I was touched by God. I immediately felt at home, I was converted and I started going to church from that moment on.

After 3.5 years, the tumor started to grow. I received chemotherapy and radiation. At the same time, I was very steadfast in my relationship with God. He had protected me before and He will do it again. After the radiation treatments I became visually impaired, it is a rare complication. The doctors can't say how it will end because it's so rare, but God will heal me. I'm convinced of that! His hope, strength and confidence He gives me every day. I believe in miracles and that my healing will reach many people around me.

After my conversion God changed me, I am no longer depressed and no longer bitter about my past. I feel supported by His hope, love and strength. He has given me a new family that encourages and supports me.

The best gift you can get is that you have God in your life.
