Óla, my name is Elba.
I was born in Brazil and raised in an evangelical church (Assemblélia de Deus), where my parents taught me biblical principles. Since my adolescence I heard about God's plans for my life, but at that age I didn't want to hear it.
As I got older, I experienced that God's plan for my life grew stronger and stronger. In the end I said 'yes' to God and then everything started to change. I began to learn more about the Lord, experience more of Him, and then also began to understand what my parents used to say to me and my siblings: "There is a difference between walking and talking to God or really knowing Him." And I have certainly experienced that difference.
When I was 23 years old I moved to the Netherlands. I don't know why, but God knows what He's doing. After a while I met people from De Deur Den Bosch who welcomed me warmly. After a few years I moved to Ede, where I decided to go to De Deur in Ede and serve God there. Here too I was welcomed with open arms and immediately felt at home.
During my first service I experienced the power of the Holy Spirit. I was baptized on July 30, 2018. This was an extraordinary experience that further strengthened my faith in Jesus Christ. God has blessed me with wonderful brothers and sisters and a wonderful pastoral couple who are always there for me.
To you I want to say: don't worry if you don't have parents who serve the Lord or if you haven't decided yet to give your life to God. Never forget: God loves you and has a plan for your life. Read Isaiah 49:15-16. Don't give up and keep the faith. God's dreams will never die. God will never give up on you. The Lord really cares about you and understands your walk. I have never experienced such great love.
