My name is Melad.

I was born and raised in Iraq. I was raised Catholic and  I learned about Mary, Jesus and God. I knew that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and that only through Jesus could I go to heaven (John 14:6). on my 16th  my friend and her brother converted from Islam to Christianity, I saw a change in their lives and I wanted to. We actively looked for a church and ended up at De Deur in Arnhem.

I repented of my sin and accepted Jesus as my Savior in my heart. During this time, things happened in my life that made me blame God. I was very angry, disappointed and sad at  God and said to myself that God didn't deserve me serving Him. I wanted to live my life the way I wanted it without God and without sorrow. For nine years I tried to work hard for my own goals, but at the same time I was always depressed and had a big void in my heart that just couldn't be filled.

In 2019 I got a new job and was trained by a Christian. This lady also went to Evangelie Gemeente De Deur. She talked about God and an activity that  was held in the church in Ede. We went there together and at the end of the evening we had a long talk, which led to making a choice for God. After my conversion I got peace in my heart and my sorrow was  away!

I thought God had let me go all these years, but it wasn't. Every disappointment in my life was a blessing from God in disguise. God is the only one who  can turn a curse into a blessing. I know I am now in God's mighty arms, where I belong and never want to leave. This choice is not only meant for me but for everyone.

We now live in a society where people wear spiritual masks, on the outside it looks like a perfect social media photo but deep inside we experience different things. Many people try to fill their void with temporary  pleasure, but God is not temporary!  He lived among us and knows every emotion and feeling you are experiencing right now. The Bible says in Psalms 34 '' De  Lord  is near to the brokenhearted, and He redeems the slain in spirit. ''  Make a choice for God and experience His peace, restoration, joy here on earth and the most beautiful of all: eternal life in heaven.
